Administration Support

We are looking for a volunteer to assist with administrative duties in the Light office alongside the Service Manager and Volunteer Coordinators. This is a great opportunity for you to use & build on your administrative skills whilst making a difference to families accessing support at Light Peer Support.

Core Tasks
  • Helping to maintain and organise current filing systems
  • Helping to set up and manage new filing systems
  • Organising our leaflets and information to send out to other services
  • Helping with daily administrative duties such as responding to email and answering the telephone
  • Preparing and maintaining volunteer files and supporting the admin needs of volunteers, e.g. organising volunteer packs/ sending out relevant information/ updating the volunteer handbook
  • Calling / emailing potential volunteers to make appointments (and give directions) and replying to enquiries
  • Attending any training that the management deem necessary to the role
  • To be aware of the organisation’s Safeguarding Policy and Health and Safety Policy and act responsibly to ensure this is adhered to
Skills / experience/ qualities needed 
  • An interest in office work
  • Basic IT skills, preferably Word, Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills
  • Good phone manner
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
  • Good organisational skills
  • An understanding of confidentially
  • Have a non-judgmental attitude, an awareness of equal opportunities and the ability to work in accordance with equal opportunities principles
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to attend training & mentoring meetings

Expenses 

The types of expenditure for which we provide reimbursement are:

  1. Travel Expenses
  2. Reasonable meal expenses when volunteering more than 5 hours at an event
  3. Reasonable parking fees related to volunteering
