People’s Postcode Lottery grant

Light is thrilled to announce a £10,000 grant from the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The People’s Postcode Lottery grant will support costs associated with Light Peer Support’s perinatal mental health illness services including group peer support, one to one sessions, and our online services.
Light’s CEO, Helen Miles, said: “We are delighted to receive this grant from the People’s Postcode Lottery. It will make a real difference to the lives of new parents, parents to be and their families affected by mental health problems. This grant will help us to provide them with the support they need.”
How the People’s Postcode Lottery helps
Postcode Neighbourhood Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Players buy lottery tickets and each week, a postcode is drawn as the winner. The postcode’s residents share the prize money, with a portion going to local good causes.
Light is one of thousands of good causes that have received funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery. The lottery has raised over £4 billion for good causes since it was launched in 2005.
This grant will help Light to further our aims of providing peer support to new parents, and parents to be, affected by perinatal mental health illness in Sheffield. It will also help to raise awareness of the importance of peer support and the vital role that it plays in improving perinatal mental health.
