Raffle to raise funds for LightSheffield

LightSheffield are delighted to have been nominated as the charity to receive proceeds from the raffle at the Northern Sling Exhibition 2017.

The free event will be held this year at The Octagon Centre, Sheffield, on Saturday 4th March, and will be open to the public from 10am – 4pm.

The exhibition is intended to reach out to families who may be curious about carrying their baby, and to provide an opportunity for health care professionals who work with families (such as health visitors and midwives) to find out more about this parenting tool. More seasoned sling users will also find much to enjoy; with stalls from some of the very best makers and distributors of slings and accessories.

For more information about the event, or to donate a prize for the raffle, please visit the exhibition website or send an email

We’re recruiting: volunteers

Light Sheffield is a peer-support charity that supports mums with postnatal depression and other mental illness around childbirth.  This is a great opportunity to join our team of dedicated volunteers.

Approximately one thousand women in Sheffield suffer from depression or anxiety relating to childbirth every year.

Could you use your own experience of postnatal depression or anxiety to offer much needed peer support to these mums and their families?

Could you spare a couple of hours a week to help facilitate a peer support group in Sheffield, Rotherham or Doncaster, or be a ‘buddy’ for a family, and make a difference?

If so we’d love to hear from you – please contact Ellie or Josanne on [email protected] or call us 0114 438 8962
